Keller asks metropolis library to take away submit about banned books


The town of Keller informed the town’s library to take away a social media posts about Banned Books Week.

The now-deleted posts listed the ten most challenged books of 2021 in keeping with the American Library Affiliation and the explanations the books have been challenged.

The books included titles like ‘Gender Queer’ by Maia Kobabe, ‘This Ebook is Homosexual’ by Juno Dawson and ‘All Boys Aren’t Blue’ by George M. Johnson.

The town of Keller despatched a press release to FOX 4 saying, “Metropolis management was involved that residents would suppose we have been making an attempt to trigger controversy, given latest debates about books within the college district, so we eliminated it as that was definitely not the intent. We nonetheless invite our residents to rejoice Banned Books Week with us on the library this week, as we do yearly.”

Keller ISD confronted criticism earlier this college 12 months when it took 40 challenged books off the shelves for evaluation.
