N Vancouver highschool robotics membership awarded $10,000 grant


VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) – A highschool robotics membership with the Battle Floor Faculty District has been awarded a $10,000 grant by a Kent, Wash. enterprise, the district introduced on Friday.

The membership, CloverBots, is run by Todd Ferris, a Prairie Excessive Faculty pictures trainer and retired engineer. The varsity district mentioned CloverBots was chosen for the annual Pegasus Award, provided by Saxton Bradley, Inc, out of dozens of candidates.

Final college 12 months, the membership completed second within the FIRST Robotics regional competitors on the Oregon State Fairgrounds.

“It takes some huge cash to participate in competitions like this,” Ferris mentioned. “You must purchase all of the components and supplies and pay entrance charges to the competitions. So this grant will go a good distance towards constructing this program.”

Highschool sophomore Jared Femling mentioned he’s trying ahead to constructing on his expertise from final 12 months.
