Uganda Income Authority (URA) has directed individuals incomes an revenue from leisure actions to get tax identification numbers, The Monitor newspaper reported.

The authority said that failure to acquire the tax identification quantity shall entice a tremendous not exceeding 3 million Shillings ($807.58) or imprisonment of six years or each if the failure is finished deliberately or recklessly.

Nevertheless, non-registration because of ignorance will entice a tremendous of 1 million shillings or imprisonment, or each if convicted.

Uganda Bureau of Statistics estimates that the providers sector, together with leisure, contributes 47.1 trillion shillings to the economic system. 

The URA stated that the tax identification numbers will allow public leisure occasion homeowners to withhold tax on funds and cost value-added tax.
