Pets at House hamster escapes on bus from Erith lollipop girl
A pet lover was left “shocked” after her newly bought hamster escaped and was discovered on a bus.
Louene Rothwell had gone into Pets at House in Crayford, close to the border with Dartford, to purchase some fish when she got here throughout the black and white rodent and fell in love.
The 55-year-old stated: “I’m mad about pandas and he was black and white so I assumed I needed to take him house. It was spur of the second”
Workers put him in two containers which Louene then positioned into her buying bag whereas she made the journey house.
She left the pet store final night time and boarded the 96 bus after which the 89 bus in the direction of her home close to Colyers Lane, Erith.
“I bought on the bus and by no means thought something of it. I used to be checking on the bag and it appeared all superb, nothing appeared to alter,” the mid-day supervisor and lollipop girl added.
“I bought house and began getting ready the cage and appeared and he had fully vanished.
“I used to be mortified pondering the place on earth did it escape. I used to be panicking and looking out throughout the home and down the street.”
The mum-of-eight phoned the Pets at House retailer to allow them to know he was lacking when she realised he was not at her home and went onto Fb to see if anybody had seen him.
Inside minutes she was contacted and instructed he had been discovered on the 89 bus and was at Bexleyheath bus station – round two miles away from the place he was final seen.
Her buddy’s boyfriend who labored on the storage drove the grandmother-of-12 straight there to gather the hamster she has now referred to as Panda 89 Metro as he was put within the newspaper field on the bus.
Louene believes he should have chewed his method by the containers and escaped from the aspect of the bag.
She stated: “I used to be shocked. It was a slim probability he would have been seen. I couldn’t consider it. I by no means thought I’d see the hamster once more and I used to be so overwhelmed once I was instructed.
“I used to be so grateful. I couldn’t consider he chewed by two containers. I’m so glad to have him house secure and effectively.”
