A New York-style deli is coming to Charlotte’s Optimist Corridor

A New York-style deli might be opening in 2023 at Optimist Hall, taking up the house the place Xiao Bao now operates. The Asian meals stall will shut on Saturday, Dec. 31.

Chef Larry Schreiber plans to convey a style of his upbringing to Charlotte. He describes Schreiber’s on Rye as a nostalgic New York-style deli with “Jew-ish” influences that would be the first of its type within the space.
