21 suspected members of illegal societies arrested in month-long operation


SINGAPORE: A complete of 21 males have been arrested throughout a month-long police operation on suspicion of being members of illegal societies.

The suspects, aged between 17 and 60, have been caught throughout checks on near 60 public leisure and nightlife institutions, in addition to meals and beverage shops.

If discovered responsible of being a member of an illegal society, offenders will be jailed for as much as three years, fined as much as S$5,000, or each.

One other three males have been arrested for different offences, together with the possession of vape units, through the operation from Nov 4 to 30.
