Weinberg Named Participant Of The Week For Second Time In A Row; Ponferrada Tabbed Newcomer Of The Week

After its 17-4 victory at No. 14 San Jose State on Sunday, the No. 1 California males’s water polo staff swept the MPSF males’s water polo weekly awards, the convention introduced Monday afternoon.
 
Junior goalie Adrian Weinberg was named Participant of the Week for the second week in a row after his efficiency towards the Spartans. Weinberg notched 15 saves and an help within the match, anchoring a Cal protection that held SJSU to a season-low 4 objectives within the contest. That is the third profession MPSF Participant of the Week honor for Weinberg.
 
Freshman attacker Albert Ponferrada was named MPSF Newcomer of the Week, his first profession convention honor. He led the Bears with 5 factors, scoring two objectives and including three assists towards San Jose State. 
 
That is the third week in a row that one of many convention awards has gone to a Cal participant after Max Casabella was named Participant of the Week Oct. 24. That is the primary awards sweep of the season for the Bears.
 
Cal closes out the common season Saturday at No. 4 Stanford within the annual Large Splash. The sport will air on Pac-12 Bay Space.
