4 charged in nationwide coronavirus fraud scheme, one stationed at Shaw Air Drive Base

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – 4 individuals are going through fees in a nationwide multi-million greenback coronavirus fraud scheme.

The Division of Justice stated the defendants are:

• Jacob Liticker, a/ok/a “Jay Stunna,” 25, from Houston, Texas
• Kehinde Mubarak Ladepo, 26, an enlisted member of the USA Air Drive stationed at Shaw Air Drive Base in Sumter
• Ganiyu Victor Ladepo, a/ok/a “Victor,” 29, from Fayetteville, North Carolina
• Maxwell Uzoma Okobi, a/ok/a “Maxi,” 24, a resident of North Carolina at present deployed to Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.

The indictment stated Liticker led a scheme associated to the Coronavirus Support, Aid and Financial Safety Act’s Paycheck Safety Program. The indictment alleges the group tried to fraudulently purchase as much as $2 million in PPP loans and have been profitable in receiving $1 million.

The PPP mortgage program was administered by the Small Enterprise Administration. It supplied forgivable loans to small companies to retain jobs in the course of the coronavirus pandemic.

The indictment stated Liticker created false PPP mortgage functions for roughly 100 folks across the nation for roughly $20,000. These functions would go to SBA lenders and use falsified tax paperwork to help the pretend enterprise. Liticker would then take a portion of the proceeds and aided in getting the loans forgiven.

If convicted, every defendant is going through as much as 20 years in jail, fines and restitution.
