Singapore’s LTA awards contract for Elias MRT station development


A three way partnership between CES_SDC and Chip Eng Seng Contractors (1988) has secured a S$562m ($426.4m) last civil contract from Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) for the design and construction of Elias station and tunnels.

The contract has been awarded beneath the Cross Island Line-Punggol Extension (CPe) challenge.

Following the most recent contract, the appointment of contractors has been concluded for all 4 CPe stations. 

With passenger service anticipated to start out in 2032, development works on the CPe Elias station and tunnels are slated to start within the second quarter of this 12 months.

CPe Elias, which is an underground station located alongside Pasir Ris Drive 3, might be constructed at a depth of about 40m. This station will function 5 entrances.

A tunnel-boring machine might be engaged within the development of a pair of tunnels, every round 1.4km lengthy.

With the deepest part round 50m beneath floor stage, the tunnels will join Elias and Pasir Ris stations.

Designed to serve current and future developments within the jap, north-eastern and western corridors, the Cross Island Line (CRL) is the eighth MRT line in Singapore.
