Malaysia’s censorship board says no management over on-line teaser after steamy scenes in horror movie cops flak


KUALA LUMPUR: Amid on-line flak acquired by an upcoming Malaysian horror movie displaying what seems to be steamy scenes, the nation’s Movie Censorship Board (LPF) stated that it has no jurisdiction over the teaser posted on-line. 

In a joint assertion with Malaysia’s Residence Affairs Ministry on Thursday (Jan 19), the LPF clarified that though it’s answerable for the censorship of movies distributed to the general public, the board has no jurisdiction over supplies disseminated on the Web.  

“The trailer of Pulau was proven on-line, so it falls out of our jurisdiction.”

It added that Pulau is just not a pornographic movie and famous that some scenes within the trailer weren’t included within the film’s submission to the board for overview. 

“There are discrepancies between the trailer shared on social media and the content material submitted for censorship,” stated the LPF. 

The LPF is an govt physique that approves, censors and classifies movies in Malaysia. It’s underneath the management of the Ministry of Residence Affairs.
