73-year-old girl dies as results of fireplace in a house with no electrical energy, household says

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – An aged girl has died as the results of a fireplace that occurred inside a house that hasn’t had electrical energy in over two years, in line with the sufferer’s household.

The household of the 73-year-old girl stated that the electrical energy at her residence on Serantine Road close to the Fairgrounds space has not been turned on since Hurricane Zeta moved by means of the world in October 2020.

The NOFD says they acquired 9-1-1 calls a few fireplace on the residence round 7:13 Sunday (Dec. 18) evening. Firefighters say that after they arrived the constructing was engulfed in flames and that they needed to power entry into the house by chopping open bars and chains on the entrance door.

The sufferer was pronounced lifeless on the scene.

Neighbors advised authorities that they known as 9-1-1 after they noticed the hearth and heard screams within the house.

Firefighters say that the lady lived alone and that there have been no smoke detectors within the house.

The hearth was positioned beneath management round 8:30, in line with authorities.

The reason for the hearth is at present beneath investigation.
