S. Korean comedy movie ‘Males of Plastic’ offered to 32 abroad markets


SEOUL, Dec. 6 (Yonhap) — The Korean plastic surgery-themed comedy movie “Males of Plastic” starring Ma Dong-seok, also referred to as Don Lee, has been offered to 32 abroad markets, its distributor Showbox stated Tuesday.

The film directed by Lim Jin-sun includes a story surrounding Apgujeong, an prosperous Gangnam neighborhood crowded with cosmetic surgery and aesthetics in southern Seoul.

Ma, the actor behind megahit motion comedy movies “The Roundup” (2022) and “The Outlaws” (2017), performs a businessman who has a “killer concept” to open a grandiose cosmetic surgery clinic within the “magnificence mecca.”

Jung Kyung-ho performs a talented plastic surgeon who groups up with the Apgujeong native businessman.

The movie hit theaters in Hong Kong and Taiwan final week and is ready for theatrical launch in the US and Canada on Friday and in Singapore on Dec. 22. It can meet audiences in Vietnam and Indonesia subsequent month.

Launched within the home market on Nov. 30, “Males of Plastic” ranked second within the native field workplace within the opening weekend from Dec. 2-4 with 214,000 admissions, in keeping with business knowledge.
