UAB hires Alex Mortensen, son of NFL analyst Chris Mortensen, as Blazers offensive coordinator

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Alabama analyst Alex Mortensen has been employed as the subsequent offensive coordinator at UAB, new coach Trent Dilfer informed CBS Sports activities. Mortensen, 37, has been with Alabama since 2014. He’s the son of longtime NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

Alex performed quarterback at Arkansas and Samford. After graduating school, he served as passing recreation coordinator at Division II New Mexico Highlands (2012-13) in addition to a training assistant with the St. Louis Rams (2013).
