Conservatives are ‘fearmongering’ over assault-style gun ban: public security minister

OTTAWA — Public Security Minister Marco Mendicino accuses the Conservatives of “whipping up concern” that the Liberal authorities is outlawing abnormal lengthy weapons and looking rifles.

In an interview, Mendicino says the federal government solely desires to strengthen a regulatory ban on assault-style firearms just like the AR-15 by enshrining a definition in laws, and it’s ready to work with MPs to get it proper.

He insists the federal government has no intention in any respect of going after on a regular basis lengthy weapons and looking rifles, calling the notion “Conservative fearmongering.”
