Man who abused cabin crew on SIA flight blacklisted by airline after hitting worker on connecting service


SINGAPORE: A person who abused Singapore Airways (SIA) cabin crew on a flight from Bangkok final week has been blacklisted by the airline after he hit an worker on his connecting service to Copenhagen, SIA stated on Monday (Nov 14).

The person was escorted off the Bangkok to Singapore flight by auxiliary police after it landed on Nov 8. SIA stated he displayed disruptive behaviour in the course of the meal service and he was heard utilizing expletives and threatening to push a crew member over in a viral video.

Following the incident on board SQ711, the passenger was subsequently issued a verbal warning, stated SIA.

SIA made the choice to permit the person to board SQ352, his connecting flight to Copenhagen, on Nov 9 after he “appeared calm and agreed to behave appropriately and comply absolutely” with the crew’s instruction.

Nonetheless, the passenger continued to behave in a disruptive method on board the connecting flight, together with placing an worker, stated SIA.

“In a single occasion, the passenger turned aggressive and hit a cabin crew member.”

The cabin crew managed to calm the passenger down ultimately, stated SIA, including that the rest of the flight, in addition to disembarkation, “proceeded uneventfully”.

“After evaluation, we determined to blacklist the passenger from all SIA flights.”
