Cate Blanchett, Baz Luhrmann and extra Be part of Selection Music for Screens

Selection introduced Wednesday that its annual, digital Music for Screens Summit will happen Nov. 29 – Dec. 1 and have conversations with Cate Blanchett, Baz Luhrmann, Karen O, Rickey Minor, Danny Elfman and extra.

Selection’s Music for Screens Summit celebrates best-in-class creators, musicians and is a part of LA3C, Penske Media’s first-ever tradition and creativity competition going down Dec. 10-11 on the Los Angeles State Historic Park. Selection’s Music for Screens occasion permits VIP ticket holders entry to an expertise usually reserved for trade executives solely.  

The summit will cowl such matters as methods for making a profitable dwell music efficiency and the way recording artists have transitioned to display composers. 

Actor Cate Blanchett, director Todd Area and composer Hildur Guðnadóttir will take part in a keynote dialog about their movie “Tar” moderated by Selection’s senior awards editor Clayton Davis.

Baz Luhrmann will focus on his inspiration for guiding, writing and producing “Elvis” with Chris Willman, senior music author at Selection. 

Composer Danny Elfman and Academy Award-nominated director Noah Baumbach will discuss their collaboration on the movie “White Noise” in a dialog moderated by Willman.  

Selection will even honor Michael Giacchino with its Composer of the Yr award, introduced by ASCAP, recognizing his musical and philanthropic achievements. Giacchino just lately composed “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “The Batman” and “Spider-Man: No Method House.” 

Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be part of Este Haim and her composing associate Christopher Stacey, Dev Hynes of Blood Orange, Finneas and Son Lux’s Ian Chang for the panel dialog “Rock to Rating-Stars.”

Minor, the Emmy-winning music director of the Kennedy Heart Honors, will be part of Adam Blackstone, Emmy-winning music director, “The Pepsi Tremendous Bowl LVI Halftime Present”; Magan Michaels Wolflick, govt producer, “American Idol”; and Pinar Toprak, composer, “Thursday Evening Soccer,” to speak about methods for music in dwell occasions. 

Moreover, there shall be periods that includes the music of “Girls Speaking” with its director/author Sarah Polley and composer Guðnadóttir; the music of “Until” that includes Chinonye Chukwu, author and director; Abel Korzeniowski, composer; and D’Mile, producer and songwriter
