THE Younger Music Society’s 2023 Summer season Music Faculty can be operating once more in January, albeit in a smaller version than pre-pandemic, however one that’s open to kids in major faculty who wish to take pleasure in basic music actions with buddies throughout  summer season.  Apply here

CHAIKA Theatre presents ​ “Collected Tales” by Donald Margulies,​ directed by Luke Rogers, with Karen and Natasha Vickery enjoying two impartial ladies ​engaged in a battle between mentor and mentee, ACT Hub, Kingston, October 27- November 12.

ANU Movie Group joins the Australian Western Sahara Affiliation, the Legislation Reform and Social Justice Faculty and the ANU Latin American College students Affiliation to display screen “Life is Ready: Referendum and Resistance in Western Sahara,” a 61-minute documentary chronicling experiences of the Sahrawis in Western Sahara, Africa’s final colony. AMONG the semi-finalists within the 2022 Doug Moran Nationwide Portrait Prize, Australia’s richest portrait prize are Bungendore artist Kerry McInnis’ portrait “Chester Nealie and Pals at Goanna Ridge” and works by  ACT artists, together with Alice Pulvers’ “Self-Portrait with Koi”, Fiona Cotton’s “Rosary”, Solomon Karmel-Shann’s “Portrait of the artist with a clean canvas” and Anne Subject’s “Barely right here or there”.

FRIENDS of the ANU Classics Museum are internet hosting a visitor lecture by Ted Robinson from College of Sydney on the subject “Sicily: The Levant’s foothold in Italy”. RSSS Auditorium, ANU, reverse Baldessin Carpark (free after 5pm) 5.30pm, Thursday, October 27.

Exhibitions

• THE Australian Centre on China within the World on the ANU has “Display screen Our bodies,” a solo exhibition by Lu Yang, one of many best-known new media/digital artists in China as we speak. Australian Centre on China within the World, Constructing 188, Fellows Lane ANU. 
• PHOTOACCESS, Griffith, opens three new exhibitions this week: “Terraform” by David Lindesay, “Earth to Photos” by Melanie Cobham and “Discovered Perceptions” by Tessa Ivison. Opening 6pm, October 27, and operating till November 12.

Live shows

• IN “The Irrepressible Life Power,” pianist Stuart Lengthy will carry out Prokofiev’s
  Sonata No. 7 in B-Flat Main, Op. 83 “Stalingrad” along with numerous Scriabin miniatures. Wesley Music Centre, 12.40pm to 1.20pm, On October 26.
• SELBY & Pals current “Tributes & Legacies”, with pianist Kathryn Selby and her visitor artists, violinist Natsuko Yoshimoto and cellist Richard Narroway, performing chamber music by Ravel, Mendelssohn, and Schumann. Llewellyn Corridor, October 26.
• TOM Bailey will carry out a number of the nice songs of ’80s hit pop group the Thompson Twins, to which he belonged, together with the all of the tracks from their hit album, “Into the Hole”. Canberra Theatre, 8pm, October 26.
