Distinguished Prairie designs honoured with awards for excellence

CALGARY, ALTA. — Throughout the Prairies, varied group hubs, buildings and distinctive buildings have been acknowledged as winners of the 2022 Prairie Design Awards, introduced by the Alberta Affiliation of Architects, the Saskatchewan Affiliation of Architects and the Manitoba Affiliation of Architects.

The tri-provincial collaboration has been recognizing design excellence since its inauguration in 2000. 

Three winners within the Latest Work class acquired an Award of Excellence:

• Capilano Library in Edmonton. The venture proprietor is the Metropolis of Edmonton and the architect is Group2 Structure Inside Design (prime advisor) in partnership with Patkau Architects.
• Nationwide Music Centre in Calgary, Alta. The proprietor is the Nationwide Music Centre and the architect is Kasian Structure Inside Design and Planning Ltd.
• Quamajuq – Inuit Artwork Centre in Winnipeg. The proprietor is Winnipeg Artwork Gallery and the architect is Cibinel Structure Ltd. with Maltzan Structure, Inc.

Different winners within the Latest Work class included:

• 62M in Winnipeg. The proprietor/shopper is Inexperienced Seed Improvement Company + Ranjjan Improvement Company and the architect is 5468796 Structure Inc.
• Develop in Calgary, Alta. The proprietor/shopper is Andrei Metelitsa and the architect is Fashionable Workplace of Design + Structure.
• Kathleen Andrews Transit Storage in Edmonton. The proprietor is the Metropolis of Edmonton and the architect isgh3*.
• Parkade of the Future in Calgary, Alta. The proprietor is Calgary Municipal Land Company and Calgary Parking Authority and the architect is 5468796 Structure and Kasian Structure, Inside Design and Planning.
• RRC Polytech Manitou a bi Bii daziigae in Winnipeg. The proprietor is Crimson River Faculty Polytechnic and the architect is Quantity TEN Architectural Group + Diamond Schmitt Architects Included, Architects in Joint Enterprise.
• Windsor Park Library in Winnipeg. The proprietor is the Metropolis of Winnipeg and the architect is David Penner Architect + h5 structure.

Winners within the Inside Design Class included:

• ATTAbotics HQ in Calgary, Alta. The proprietor is ATTAbotics and the inside designer is MODA.
• Snider Orthotic Design in Winnipeg. The proprietor/shopper is Luke Snider and the architect is 1×1 structure inc.
• 5^th SW Underpass Enhancement in Calgary, Alta. The proprietor is the Metropolis of Calgary and the panorama architect is DIALOG Alberta Structure Engineering Inside Design Planning Inc.
• Manitoboggan in Winnipeg. The proprietor/shopper is the Metropolis of Winnipeg and the panorama architect is Public Metropolis Structure Inc.
• Paul Kane Park Redevelopment in Edmonton. The proprietor is the Metropolis of Edmonton and the architect is GEC Structure.

The winners within the Small Challenge class have been:

• Co*Lab in Edmonton. The proprietor is the Metropolis of Edmonton and the architect isRockliff Pierzchajlo Kroman Architects Ltd.
• Forest Pavilion in Winnipeg. The proprietor is the Metropolis of Winnipeg and the architect is Public Metropolis Structure Inc.
• Rainbow Butterfly in Winnipeg. The proprietor is Collective of Voices and Manitoba Moon Voices and the architect is Brook McIlroy Inc.
