Extra Mie Sedaap immediate noodle merchandise recalled after pesticide present in chilli powder


SINGAPORE: The Singapore Meals Company (SFA) on Tuesday (Oct 11) prolonged the recall of Mie Sedaap immediate noodles from Indonesia for the third time in every week to incorporate two extra merchandise after detecting a pesticide within the chilli powder.

“Via our regulatory testing, SFA has recognized the chilli powder to be contaminated with ethylene oxide,” it stated in an up to date media launch.

SFA has directed Indostop Singapore to recall Mie Sedaap Kari Spesial immediate cup noodles and Korean Spicy Rooster immediate cup noodles, stated SFA, including that the recall is ongoing.

The newest recall impacts the Mie Sedaap Kari Spesial immediate cup noodles with an expiry date of Mar 27, 2023, and the Mie Sedaap Korean Spicy Rooster immediate cup noodles with an expiry date of Apr 24, 2023.

A complete of six merchandise below the Mie Sedaap immediate noodle model have been recalled, after 4 different merchandise have been recalled earlier on Oct 6 and Oct 8.

The producer, PT Wings Surya, is working with importers to withdraw Mie Sedaap immediate noodle merchandise with chilli powder from the retail market, and also will reformulate their product to rectify the reason for ethylene oxide contamination, stated SFA.
