Clarksville PD examine two falsified crime studies, leads to felony expenses

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Clarksville Police Division (CPD) lately investigated two separate reported violent crimes that had been decided to be false.

On Sept. 18, at roughly 8:15 a.m., Heather Majors, 41, contacted CPD and acknowledged that she was carjacked at round 5:30 a.m. by a black male. 

Majors instructed the officer that the male put a gun to her head and made her lie down on the bottom after which stole her 2017 Kia Forte.  She stated her cellphone was lifeless and that she needed to stroll house in an effort to name 911. 

Her car was situated broken and unoccupied on East Previous Ashland Metropolis Highway later that day and was processed for proof. In the course of the course of the investigation, Majors admitted to detectives that the theft didn’t happen and that she had crashed her automotive and parked it the place it had been discovered earlier.

The second incident occurred on Sept.19 at roughly 6:15 a.m.

Phillip Hughes, 60, contacted CPD and acknowledged that he was robbed by two black males and a white male as he walked down Strawberry Alley. Hughes acknowledged that they took his pockets which contained $180.00. 

In the course of the course of the investigation, Hughes made a number of inconsistent statements and ultimately admitted to detectives that the theft didn’t happen.

Beneath Tennessee Legislation, it’s a felony for an individual to provoke a report or assertion to regulation enforcement officers, realizing the offense or incident didn’t happen.

The Clarksville Police Division takes reported crimes significantly, and when these studies will not be true it’s a waste of the residents’ tax {dollars}. From the primary responding officer taking the report back to the detective that spends hours investigating the crime, false studies detract efforts that may very well be spent elsewhere, defending and serving the residents of Clarksville.

Heather Majors was arrested on Oct. 1 and Phillip Hughes has a warrant for his arrest.
