The shortlist for the 2022 Small Press Community (SPN) Ebook of the 12 months (BOTY) Award has been introduced.
The shortlisted books are:

- Gravidity and Parity (Eleanor Jackson, Vagabond)
- Horny Tales of Paleontology (Patrick Lenton, Subbed In)
- Idea of Colors (Bella Li, Vagabond)
- (S J Norman, UQP)
- (ed by Poppy Nwosu, Wakefield).
Judges Penni Russon, Bec Kavanagh and Andrew Finegan stated the shortlist ‘speaks to the variety of varieties and the thrilling experimentation within the small, people-powered publishing homes in Australia, however this shortlist is a mere peak on a mountain of novels, tutorial texts, poetry, nonfiction, kids’s image books and YA, all of that are doing attention-grabbing and great issues to increase our concepts about what the Australian publishing scene is as much as’.
Previously the Most Underrated Ebook Award, the prize was first introduced beneath its new identify in 2020 and goals to recognise ‘important and groundbreaking’ books being produced in Australia. The joint, each essay collections, had been Echoes (Shu-Ling Chua, first printed by Somekind Press) and We Are Talking in Code (Tanya Vavilova, Brio).
