Here’s what events and festivals are coming to the Dawson County area this fall

Every year when fall arrives, the North Georgia area is full of fall festivals and events for community members to attend and enjoy. Here are several of the events coming to Dawson and its surrounding counties in the next few weeks. 

Jaemor Farms Harvest Celebration 

When is it: Now through Nov. 6

Where is it: 5340 Cornelia Highway, Alto, 30510

What is it: Jaemor offers a fall farm experience including a corn maze, pumpkin patch, hayrides, farm games, u-pick flowers, farm slides, a petting zoo, farm skeeball, a pumpkin train, duck races, tricycle races, apple cannons and concessions.

Cumming Country Fair and Festival 

When is it: Oct. 6 through 16

Where is it: Cumming Fairgrounds, 235 Castleberry Road, Cumming 30040

House of Four Scythes Haunted Attraction 

When is it: Oct. 6 through 29

Where is it: Cumming Fairgrounds, 235 Castleberry Road, Cumming 30040

What is it: The House of Four Scythes is a nonprofit haunted house benefiting the American Cancer Society. This year, it will be open for 15 nights in October between Oct. 6 and 29, including all 11 nights that the fair is open and the two following weekends. The last two weekends will also feature a Clown Maze and a festival with vendors, food trucks, music and more.

Georgia Apple Festival 

When is it: Oct. 8 and 9, Oct. 15 and 16

Where is it: Ellijay Lions Club Fairgrounds, 1729 Main Street, Ellijay, 30540

What is it: Two exciting weekends with over 250 vendors offering food, handmade crafts, art, exhibitions, parade, car show and more.

Gold Rush Days

When is it: Oct. 15 and 16

Where is it: Downtown Dahlonega

What is it: Over 200 craft and art exhibits and food vendors will gather around Dahlonega’s public square and historic district. Event attendees can enjoy shopping, good food, live entertainment and more.

55th Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival 

When is it: Oct. 21 through 23

Where is it: Downtown Dawsonville

What is it: See the parade of moonshine and revenuer cars to kick off festivities on Saturday morning. The weekend-long festival will feature dozens of vendors, a car show, live entertainment and fun for all ages.

Oberfest Arts and Crafts festival

When is it: Oct. 22 and 23

Where is it: Helen Arts and Heritage Center, Helen, Ga

What is it: This family-friendly event includes artists and craftsmen from across Northeast Georgia, as well as mountain music, face painting, baked goods and more.
