Wem: Carnival organisers say occasion was successful following return
ORGANISERS of a well-liked north Shropshire occasion have mentioned it is going to return in 2023 following the success of this 12 months’s occasion.
The Wem Carnival introduced the city to life final weekend as a whole bunch of individuals turned out for the family-friendly gathering.
Organisers say it was successful because it returned for the primary time since 2019 and have confirmed the nice turnout means it is going to return subsequent 12 months.
Bev Howard, the press liaison for the carnival, mentioned it was nice for the city.
She added: It went rather well, it was properly supported.
“We had lots of entrants. We have been actually inspired by it.
“There have been no main incidents.
“The help we had from the general public and the shortage of incidents [meant[ it was a real success.

Bev explained many businesses that were selling produce at the event had a great day and sold out of products.
She added: “It is a great community event, it is great for the businesses of Wem and great for the morale of the people of Wem.
“It was a lovely family day and there was so much good stuff going on in the Gala Field.
“People had a lovely day and are very happy to have the carnival back.”
She added: “Some of the businesses who were here on the Gala Field sold out of their products.
“Some made more money than they had made in previous years.”
A date for next year’s event is still to be announced.
