For many years A.J. Croce didn’t need to play the songs that so many music followers affiliate along with his final title. 

His father, Jim, is without doubt one of the early-70s greatest singer-songwriters. He wrote and carried out hits like “You Don’t Mess Round With Jim,” “Dangerous, Dangerous Leroy Brown” and plenty of others earlier than his loss of life in 1973.  

Now, although, A.J. has discovered a connection to his dad’s music and the love of music they share and he excursions a present known as “Croce Performs Croce.” A.J. will carry out the hits, his personal music, and covers throughout an 8 p.m. present Sept. 10 on the Wortham Middle for the Performing Arts. 

“This present is in regards to the connection I’ve to my father’s music and the music that connects us. All that stuff in his file assortment that I grew up listening to as a child. It’s the stuff that influenced him and in addition me,” Croce stated. “We’ll play the hits. Apart from that, I’ll throw in stuff which might be deeper cuts that I actually like. My dad’s catalog is about 35 or 36 songs that folks know. That may’t change very a lot. However I’ve 30 years as a recording artist, and there’s covers, and hundreds of songs that I can throw in on any given night of issues that influenced us.”
