Tech cross nation squads open season in Blacksburg


BLACKSBURG ­– The Virginia Tech males’s and ladies’s cross nation groups will start their 2022 season by internet hosting the Virginia Tech Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., Friday, Sept. 2. The ladies’s 4k will begin at 6:00 p.m. adopted by the boys’s 6k at 6:30 p.m. Live Results
 
Senior Antonio Lopez Segura leads the boys’s workforce again to the course after ending 15th on the 2021 NCAA Southeast Area Championships with a 10k personal-best time of 29:48.3.  Returning with Segura will probably be Ethan Mills and Dave Whitfield. Mills and Whitfield completed throughout the high 100 on the Regional Championships leading to a tenth place end for the boys’s workforce.
 
For the ladies’s workforce, Ava Hassebrock returns after ending 36th on the 2021 ACC Cross Nation Championships clocking in a personal-best time of 21:14.9 within the 6k. Chase Kappeler and Hannah Ballowe will even be competing in Blacksburg on Friday alongside Hassebrock. Kappeler scored 60th on the Southeast Area Championships crossing the road with a personal-best time of 21:44.1, Ballowe scored 63rd (21:44.8)

 Each groups will compete in three meets this 12 months throughout the common season, adopted by the ACC Championships, and NCAA Southeast Regional.
