2022 Ruby Bridges Studying Pageant

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Saturday, Aug. 27, 2022, it’s all about literacy and studying on the Nationwide Civil Rights Museum. The museum is internet hosting the Ruby Bridges Reading Festival.

Civil Rights and literacy advocate Ruby Bridges was the primary Black baby to attend an all-White elementary college in Louisiana in 1960, when she was six-years-old. Her dad and mom had responded to a request by the NAACP to assist combine the New Orleans college system.

Since that point. Bridges has been on a mission to advertise literacy, equal rights, and tolerance with a purpose to promote understanding between folks from all backgrounds.

The competition will resume its annual season in Might 2023. The format is picnic-style on the grounds of the museum’s Founders Park and courtyard, rain or shine. Friends are inspired to convey blankets. In case of rain, the competition will happen contained in the museum’s boarding home.
