The Academy Awards have issued a proper apology to an actress 50 years after she was booed off stage.
Native American activist Sacheen Littlefeather acquired the letter of apology from the Academy of Movement Image Arts and Sciences, which oversees the Oscars.
Littlefeather appeared on stage on the 1973 Academy Awards ceremony on behalf of actor Marlon Brando who had refused to just accept his greatest actor award.
Brando cited his assist of Native American rights as his purpose, referring to Native American activists protesting authorities inaction on treaties on the time.
Littlefeather made a speech denouncing the therapy of American Indians by the movie business, however friends on the awards present booed her off stage and made impolite gestures.
